In 1982, AmCham Egypt was established as the 44th American Chamber of Commerce overseas and the first in the Middle East. The establishment focuses on fostering trade and investment between Egypt and the United States and acting as a direct intermediary with the Chamber of Commerce of the United States and other business organizations. It also endeavors to represent the perspectives of the local American business community to both public and private interests in the United States. AmCham provides a platform for American business executives in Egypt, as well as Egyptian business executives with American interests, to collaborate on shared objectives related to their respective activities.
